As we read through each chapters, I noticed that Gatsby had an obsession with Daisy. He did everything to please her. He even became rich for her. He gave his life to her. Just like immigrants came here with a goal, to the land of opportunity, known as America. They bet their lives on it.
Even though he became rich, he didn't gain much from it. He only got people, that wanted something from him. He knew that but didn't care because all he wanted was Daisy. Even though, Daisy, was just playing around with Gatsby. He thought he finally had the chance to have her again. Gatsby desperately wanted something that he couldn't get. He symbolizes our desires, to have something that we can't have.
He was to selfish to want something that can't happen. Many people want more then they can have. Gatsby wanted to relive the past he had with Daisy. He was asking more then he can have. People can not have everything life. That why people always say, "Life is always unfair." We will always want many things, even if you are rich that doesn't change anything. No matter, who you are, you can't have everything. That's just the way, it is.
